Captain’s Log

Here is a rough record of dates, events and milestones.

  1. I have been pondering this book for years.
  2. I have been taking stabs at writing it, but it never really jelled.
  3. But have written several pieces over time. The “Raising Money” chapters have been on for several years. Much of the Ideation section has been in an article on called “How to turn your ideas into products”. That article came from a talk I did in 2017.
  4. I came up with the IPESSI idea in 2017.
  5. On January 1, 2018 I registered the domain.
  6. It took a long time to get WordPress set up and find a theme I liked.
  7. Then I started writing, and transferring material over from existing sources.
  8. It looks like I created the first IPESSI drawing (which I am really pleased with!) and the little gear logo on January 21, 2018.  I did the Owner Percent pie charts on January 28. Since I had them, I actually used them in class that week.
  9. It looks like the first Blog post happened on January 22.
  10. It looks like I installed the forum and made the first post on January 23.
  11. Somewhere in here I signed up for buddy backup at $60/year.
  12. February 4, 2017
  13. I “finished”version 1  writing on February 4, except for the “Improvement” chapter. I don’t know what I want to say.
  14. Here it is 2PM on February 4, and it feels like I want to get some traffic in here, to see if anyone cares, to see if it resonates at all. I am going to be incredibly disappointed if it does not resonate, so there is some fear about “making it public”. I really would like for this to work, but what if it does not work? What if no one cares?
  15. Also on February 4, I read this article: . I wonder if this is reproducible?
  16. Around 3PM I put it on /r/MarshallBrain for about an hour. It received no comments, no upvotes in that time. I deleted it. I want to see if that tiny bit of exposure “does anything.” According to the web logs, maybe six people came in this time.
  17. Created /r/MachineThatMakesMoney today
  18. Created
  19. I tried to figure out the Sumo plugin. It makes no sense at first. Zotabox seems so much easier.
  20. Tried to sign up for mailchimp and failed.
  21. Paid $8 for cleantalk per year.
